Ugonna Ikechi has been honing his painting skills since his debut solo exhibition in 2016. He has since hosted 3 solo exhibitions in Toronto, participated in numerous group shows globally, and has also curated a group exhibition of emerging Black artists in Toronto.

 

Ugonna's work aims to reflect the human experience in all its complexities, by drawing inspiration from language, religion, history, music, and other pillars of existence.

 

This practice of mindful consumption and production by the artist serves as a vehicle for self-discovery and actualization, with hopes of positively impacting our collective perceptions of identity and purpose.
